Introduction to BildinbloxThe Bildinblox Knowledgebase aims to provide a resource of articles and Flash tutorials to help you maintain your new Bildinblox web site. Each article usually consists of a short introduction to the topic followed by a Flash movie illustrating exactly how to carry out the action in the Bildinblox user interface. Finally, the article will end with a DO or a DON'T tip. Web BrowserIn order to maintain your web site, you must log in using Microsoft Internet Explorer 6, 7 or 8+ We recommend version 7 or 8. You will not be able to edit your web site using Internet Explorer for Mac, Opera or Firefox although once you have edited your web site the content will be accessible to anyone, whatever browser they use. Logging In to Your WebsiteTo begin editing your web site, you must log in. Your welcome email from Bildinblox will have included instruction on logging in and will have given you a 3 character code, and a user name and password. Begin by visiting the home page of your web site and type the 3 characters in quick succession.
Remember my passwordIf you check this option, Bildinblox will write a cookie on your PC allowing you to log in, without having to enter your password again. We recommend that you DO NOT use this option if you use a shared computer, or a public computer, for example, one in an airport departure terminal. You should remember that some 'cleaner' applications that you can run on your PC may remove cookies like these, forcing you to log in afresh with your password, so its a good idea to keep a copy of your welcome instructions in a safe place. Open as a new applicationNormally, Bildinblox will open inside your normal web browser window, at the top of the web page. If you check this option, Bildinblox will start in a new window containing just Bildinblox and the content of your web page. You may find this easier to use, with less 'clutter' on the screen. I forgot my passwordIf you have forgotten your password, you may enter your username and then click 'Login'; Bildinblox will send a new password to the email address you provided when you bought your web site. For security, Bildinblox encrypts your password so it is not possible to recover it - instead, we will create a new one and email it to you. |
